bought several plants last year which bloomed throughout the midsummer until frost; they came back late but vigorous this year; but no blooms; bud formation is weak; petals fall off almost as soon as they open; any clue as to what’s gone wrong? ……. foliage is still attractive and healthy with a strong stem; but flowers ?

I don’t know. My first suggestion is a soil test. – Peggy
