My First Give-Away

Fiskars PrunerI never thought this day would come. Another pruner has taken the place of the Felcos that always hung from my pocket.

I know what your thinking, “Hey, wait, aren’t you going to tell us about girls weekend? The story from last year is the best blog you’ve ever written.” Well there really weren’t a lot of garden shenanigans going on, and Melinda is planning a tell-all book, so you’ll have to wait for that.

The girls did help me figure out what’s killing my golden creeping Jenny.

Hidden Hills Garden

It’s a Sasquatch problem. – I thought bunnies were bad – apparently Sasquatches enjoy peeing on small, defenseless gnome-be-gones, and the Jenny is collateral damage. Luckily Blue is working on a repellent. I can’t say anything more until she’s ready to go to market.

Gnome Be Gones

This picture was taken last year. See how happy they were? Damn Sasquatches!

Fiskars PrunerOK back to the pruners. When the nice lady at Fiskars first talked to me about sending geared pruners I replied, “That would be great.” But in my head I thought, “I’ve seen geared pruners at garden shows before, and you have to squeeze them three times to make one cut. Yes, it’s a lot easier squeeze, but you have to do it three times, so is it really easier?” What came in the mail is different than what I’ve seen before. It’s way better. It’s the Fiskars PowerGear Bypass Pruner. You only have to squeeze it once, but it’s still a lot easier. I’m able to cut thicker branches or the same size branches with less effort. “Think a hot knife through butter” is the catchy phrase on the top of the box.

Best of all, they not only sent one for me, they sent one for you…maybe…if you win. Here’s how this works. You leave a comment/reply on this blog. – Any comment from “Enter me in the give-away.” to “I’ve seen Sasquatch.” – Make sure you use a valid email when you leave your comment so I can notify you if you win. Don’t worry about typing your email address. It won’t show up on my blog. I comment on lots of blogs, and it doesn’t create any problems for me. I’ll use a random number generator and pick a winner on October 1st. Good luck.

I need to win. I’ve been sick this year and am not as strong as before.

  2. Edward S says:

A hot knife through butter is really easy. I look forward to winning this pruner.

  3. Rebecca says:

    “I’ve seen Sasquatch.” 🙂

  4. Melinda Connors says:

Help!! I really need these, my dryer lint is stacking up and wow these would help to cut it up in the precise configurement that I need…..

  5. Phillip says:

    I can always use pruners!

  6. Blue says:

They repel aardvarks!!! Aardvarks are historically frightened by sharp, easy to use pruners. More interesting facts – aardvarks sightings are on the rise in Kentucky, aardvarks may seem harmless, but they ARE in the Sasquatch family, and I never win anything.

  7. Jennifer key says:

You must be living on the edge in your phan-c garden. You have monkeys and Sasquatch!

  8. Bruce Eubanks says:

I need to help my wife in the garden and these pruners would really get me motivated!! And I could protect my family from Sasquatch!!

  9. Lorie says:

Sasquatch, is entirely a different problem. Perhaps you should talk to Mr. Shawiggins. I need help getting rid of my ivy, any ideas

  10. Susan says:

I could really use those!! My yard has suffered since I’ve ignored it and those would probably help me with such ease if they are as good as you say!! No Sasquatch in my yard just plain ole “no maintenance done this year”. 🙁

  11. Kathy Walters says:

Wow, I found you just in time! Cool sounding pruners. I’ll have to look for them (if I don’t win. :>) I just popped by to get ideas for my son’s N Alabama garden. I live in S Florida!

  12. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming having a
blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% positive.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
